"Dream, Dream, Dream! Conduct these dreams into thoughts, and then transform them into action."
- Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam
In a major policy departure, India has entered into a military agreement with United States, where militaries of both the countries will work closely and use each other’s bases for logistics support. This is probably only the second time that India has signed such an agreement, the first one being the Indo-Soviet Treaty of Peace, Friendship and Cooperation, way back in 1971 just before the Bangladesh war.
This new development is expected to benefit India as it will increase the operational capacity of the Indian armed forces during crises. According to the agreement, both countries will now provide supplies and repairs to each other during joint operations and relief operations. It will further make the process of working together more congenial and efficient.
